The Park and Recreation Commission has the responsibility of advising the City Council on park maintenance, development plats, park planning, and policies. The mission of the City of Jordan Park and Recreation Commission is to strive for quality and fiscally responsible recreation opportunities while recognizing the wants and needs of the community.

Park & Recreation Advisory Commission Members

There are seven  members of the Park and Recreation Commission, including two City Council-members. The non-City Council Commissioners serve two-year terms, with no term limits, and the Council-members are appointed annually by the City Council.

If you are interested in applying to be a member of the City of Jordan Park and Recreation Commission, complete an application and submit it to the city offices at 210 First Street East or via email. Please contact the planning department at 952-492-2535 with any questions.

Interested in making a donation to the park and trail system?

The Parks and Recreation Advisory together with the City Council and By the Yard, Inc, have established a Bench Donation Program. See the Application for Bench Donation below, for more information.
